Dong Dae Mun Stadium

When i was in Seoul, I passed by Dong Dae Mun Stadium several times. I passed by whenever i shopped at Migorie. I passed by whenever i ate my favourite Dolsot Bibimbap at my favourite restaurant, Soma 1095. Dong Dae Mun Stadium was a stadium previously. However, it is not a stadium any more now. So what kind of place is it now? I didnt know.

I had a strong craving for Bak Ping Su one hot afternoon. So i thought of Migorie because there is this very yummy Bak Ping Su at the 9th level of Migorie. So Aini and i went. After i placed my order, we sat at the window seats waiting for Bak Ping Su to arrive. From where we sat, we could see Dong Dae Mun Stadium. Then i realised that Dong Dae Mum Stadium has been converted to a parking area for cars and buses.

My room-mate and I were told to move out of the dorm this afternoon. We were supposed to stay in the same dorm until 20 Aug but someone had made a mistake of registering our stay until 18 Aug. We were to told to move out immediately and find alternative accommodation ourselves as some students from China will be occupying our room tomorrow.

I was shocked and upset. My room-mate already started packing. But I kept telling myself that I would not move. And I kept telling the dorm staff that I would not move.

In the end, the dorm staff said that they have found alternative accommodation for us in another dorm and would help us move our luggages. Finally, I relented.

I packed ..... everything within an hour. We moved out. Shocked and upset.

2006년 8월 17일 - Day 20 in Korea | I Thought I Know .....

I thought i know how to count
Until I lost track the number of times i have woken up

I thought i know what noise is
Until i hear you screamed

I thought i know what loudness is
Until i hear you shouted

I thought i know what fright is
Until your screamings and shoutings woke me up

I thought i know what patience is
Until i have been tested every night and every morning

We never appreciate what we have
Until we have lost it ..... i mean my sleep

This is dedicated to my overseas room-mate who has woken me up from my sleep for the nth time since last night. Perhaps i should not pray for a undisturbed sleep. I should pray that she has a peaceful sleep instead. Only then can i get an undisturbed sleep.

2006년 8월 15일 - Day 18 in Korea | Falling, Falling and Falling

I have a weird dream last night. In the dream, i was climbing up the escalator in a subway in seoul. As i climbed, i felt very tired and exhausted. But i still continued climbing anyway. Of all a sudden, i missed a step and fell backwards!! Falling, falling ..... falling. In my dream, i had this chance of grabbing to the escalator railing. Strangely, I chose not to grab to it and willingly allow myself to fall. I could still remember i heaved a sigh of relief as i fell backwards. It is like all my tiredness and exhaustion melted away instantly.

I am a little depressed. I pray for an undisturbed sleep tonight.

2006년 8월 13일 - Day 16 in Korea | Hwagyesa Temple

I have this stress attack since yesterday morning. I get this stress attack either when i am mentally stressed or physically exhausted. But this time, I felt that I was both mentally and physically stressed. My forehead is tight. My right ear is slightly blocked. My head and body are so tensed that I could feel the muscles in my head pulling in all the directions. My physical body has been tortured by the inconvenience of staying in this dorm and the lack of proper sleep. This stress attack will probably last a few days.

I am glad that Erin brought me to Hwagyesa Temple today for meditation class and dharma talk.

Hwagyesa Temple

We had 2 hours of sitting and walking meditation at the 4th level of this Buddha Hall. I felt so much better after the meditation. I felt less stressed. After that, we listened to an hour of dharma talk.

Erin brought me Namaste Restaurant which is beside Dongmyo Subway Station.

We shared this indian vegetarian set meal. It was perfect.

2006년 8월 13일 - Day 16 in Korea | I am the Sun and You are the Moon

It is early in the morning. Door opens. Door closes. Wardrobe opens. Wardrobe closes. Sounds of creaking. Oh that is the sound of someone climbing up the ladder to the double decker bed.

My room-mate from Venezula has been busy clubbing these few days. She came back around 5am on Thurday. Yesterday, she came back around 7am. Today, she came back in the early morning too.
