잘 지나세요

우리는 한국어를 계속 공부할 수 있어서 운이 얼마나 좋은지 몰라요. 지난 목요일에 다른 반 여자친구가 한국어 수업에 안 왔어요. 그 여자찬구는 학교에 가는 종에 교통 사고가 나는 바람에 오지 못했어요. 그 교통 사고 때문에 돌아갔어요. 오늘 수업이 시작하기 전에 친구들에게 들어서 너무 깜짝놀았어요.

작년 한국어 말하기 대회에서 제 친한 친구를 통해서 그 여자친구를 만났어요. 그 여자친구를 알기는 하지만 친한 친구가 이니예요. 그래도 친구가 돌아가서 슬퍼요. 친구가 그렇게 갑자기 돌아가서 슬퍼요. 제가 블로그를 쓰면서 그 친구의 얼굴을 생각해요.

We do not know how lucky we are to be able to continue studying korean. There was a friend from another class who did not manage to attend korean lesson last thursday. She was on her way to the school when a traffic accident happened. She did not reach school. She died on the spot. I was so shocked when i heard the news today.

I got to know this friend through a close friend of mine at the korean speech contest last year. Though we know each other, we were not exactly very close friends. Even then, i feel sad that she had passed away. I feel sad for her that she had passed away suddenly in such a manner. While i am blogging, i am still thinking of her and how she looked.

Everyone, no matter how busy you may be, please take care of yourselves.

취미

이번 주는 우리 교과서 제2과가 끝았어요. 취미에 대한 제2과를 공부했어요. 선생님께서 우리 취미를 물어 봤어요.

선생님 : 학생들이 취미가 뭐예요?

학생 가 : 쇼핑하기.

선생님 : 좋아요. 또?

스파이스베어 (농담하면서) : 잠자기.

선생님 : 뭘? 잠자기 취미가 아니예요. 또?

학생 나 : 먹기.

선생님 : 뭘??

학생 다 : 인터넷 하기.

학생 라 : 전화 이야기.

학생 마 : 문자 메세지 보내기.

선생님 : .....

I was joking when i told my teacher my hobby is sleeping. However, i wont be surprised if someone tells me that his or her hobby is sleeping. In fact, i have a friend who is so overworked during the weekdays that she sleeps almost the whole day on weekends. Her husband complains that they could hardly go out together cos by the time she wakes up, it would be dinner time.

사실은 제 취미는 잠자기가 아니고 운동하기예요. 운동하기 한지 4년 쯤 됐어요. 제가 건강을 유지하기 위해서 운동을 자주 해요. 운동하기중 에서 요가하기이며 조깅하기를 자주 해요. 수영하기와 자전거를 타기도 좋아하지만 지난 2개월 동안 비가 많이 와서 통 못 했어요.

이번 주 제가 운동을 많이 많이 하느라고 블로그에 쓰지 못 했어요. 이번 주는 요가 4번 했어요. 요가를 하는 것을 좋아하기는 하지만 아직 잘 못해요. 그런데 요가를 참 좋아해서 계속 계속 하겠어요. 이번 주도 조깅을 3번 했는데 이따가 조깅도 할 거예요. 조깅을 하면서 자주 "궁"음악을 들어요. 보통 운동을 한 후에 기분이 너무 좋아요. 제 생각에는 스트레스를 푸는데 운동이 아주 좋아요.

다시 태어난다면 아마 운동가가 되고 싶어요. 왜냐하면 세계적으로 제일 중요한 것은 건강이에요. 그래서 다시 태어난다면 Tiger Woods와 Roger Federer처럼 잘 칠 줄 아는 사람이 되고 싶어요. 그 사람들도 잘 생겨 보이네요. ㅎㅎㅎ

가수 이안 씨

There is an article on a korean singer by the name of Lee An in the newspaper today. In the article, he is said to have moved to Singapore in August last year and has planned to be based in Singapore for at least a few years. In fact, he has jus released his debut korean album last friday.

Actually, he sang in the 2nd Korean Language Speech Contest last October. If i had not seen him and heard him sang then, i would have not have known who he is. The video below was one of the three songs he sang then. I like this song cos it has a nice melody.


Singapore only has a small population of 4 million people. Nevertheless, i hope his decision to move his singing base to Singapore will bring him success.

Chapter One - Part 2

I thought we completed chapter one 2 days ago. I was wrong. We only completed chapter one in the first half of today's lesson. I think it is gonna be a challenge to finish 3 other chapters, an oral test and a written test paper in the rest of the 7 weeks.

I was telling one of my classmates that this textbook is really difficult. The teachings in this intermediate 1 textbook is a big jump from the previous elementary 2 textbook. I am already having this thought of repeating this level. Sigh .....

제1과

I have started intermediate two class since last Tuesday. We began with the first chapter of Kyung Hee Uni intermediate one textbook last Tuesday. Guess what? After 4 lessons or 8 hours, we are still at chapter one! And we will still be studying chapter one next week. 왜요? 새 단어가 많고 새 문법도 많고 듣기가 어려워요. We are supposed to finish 4 chapters in 10 weeks. I think it is not gonna be easy. 아이구! 한국어를 어려워지는데요.

수업을 시작했어요!

2개월 동안 한국어 수업이 없었어요. 그래서 심심했어요. 심심할 때는 배운 문법을 간단하게 복습했어요. 그 동안 듣기를 연습하고 싶은데 한국 드라마를 봤어요. 그리고 말하기를 연습하고 싶은데 나 자신에게 때때로 말했어요. 제가 미쳤어요?

오늘 드디어 수업을 시작했어요. NEX에서 고급반을 시작하지 않았어요. 제가 한국어를 계속 공부하고 싶어서 그냥 싱가포르 한국 학교에 다시 돌아갔어요. 싱가포르 한국 학교는 제 첫 한국 학교예요. 한국어를 계속 공부할 수 있어서 기분이 좋아요. 회이팅!

Everyone has their own star they wish to catch from the sky. For some, it may be money or reputation. For others, it may be success or recognition. By wishing to catch this star of our choice, what we ultimately want to achieve is some worldly happiness. I am no different. Every year, i hope for good health. To me, having good health is like catching a star from the sky. It is indeed not easy. This year, as always, i hope to have good health too.

안녕하세요! 저는 어제 늦은 밤에 대만에서 돌아왔어요. 대만에서 재미있게 놀았어요. 재미있는 곳에 가고 맛있는 음식을 먹고 우정이 있는 대만인을 만났어요. 이 대만 여행에 가기 전에 제가 대만 가수와 노래를 조금 알지만 다른 것에 대해서 몰랐어요. 하지만 대만에서 돌아온 후에 대만에 대해서 더 알아요. 대만 사람이 싱가포르 사람보다 더 친절해요.

크리스마스 카드

한국어 크리스마스 카드

지난 금요일에 한국어 크리스마스 카드를 한 장 받았어요. 송 씨에게서 받았어요! 물론이지요! 송 씨, 진짜 고마워요! ^^

이 받은 크리스마스 카드은 제 첫째 한국어 크리스마스 카드예요. 지난 주에 받을 때 너무 기뻤어요. 그 때 제는 어린이처럼이었어요. 좋아하는 장난감을 놀을 수 있는 어린이하고 같았어요. 히히히 ....

크리스마스 카드 위에 한국어 단어들이 있어요. 한복을 입는 여자도 세 명 있어요. 아, 아주 귀엽고 예뻐요!

그리고 크리스마스 카드 왼쪽 위에 "새아침"을 볼 수 있어요. 왜 "새아침"이에요? 혹시 크리스마스에 도착하면 아침이 새롭게 될 거에요?

또 크리스마스 카드 왼쪽 위에 "새해 복 많이 받으세요"도 볼 수 있어요. 단어들이 작은데 보지 않으면 미안해요. 크리스마스 동안 사람들을 만나면 영어로 "Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year"라고 말해요. 그렇지만 한국어로 "메리 크리스마스. 새해 복 많이 받으세요"라고 말해요. 문장들이 조금 달라요. 하지만 의미가 같아요.

크리스마스가 다섯 날 후에 있을 거에요. 빨리 계획하세요! ^^

로보킹

Every weekend, when i do my most boring and mundane weekly task, i will think of him once. Who is he?

He is Mr LG Robot Cleaner, of course!

일주일에 한번 주말마다 집에서 청소해야 해요. 청소하기를 싫어하지만 청소해야 해요. 그래서 청소할 때마다 LG 로보킹을 생각내요. 로보킹을 사고 싶은데 싱가포르에서 팔지 않아요. 어떻게 하지요?

My research tells me that Mr LG Robot Cleaner has a lifespan of approximately 2000 hours. This works out to be about 75 cents per hour. Even if you exploit it everyday for half an hour to an hour, he can still live with you for the next 5 to 10 years. With Mr LG Robot Cleaner, who ever needs a maid?

싱가포르에서 사지 못 해서 내년 한국에 가면 그냥 LG 로보킹을 살 거야!

한국을 보고 싶어요

All of a sudden. Dunno know why. I miss korea. I really miss korea. Everything about korea. 섭섭해요.

왜 한국어를 배워요?

Eighteen months ago .....

Friend A : Why are you studying korean?

Me : Oh, you see, i am planning for a short trip to korea 3 months later. If i know a little korean, it would be useful, wouldnt it?

Friend A (astonished) : WHAT?! You are studying korean because you are planning to visit korea?!

Friend A (puzzled) : If you were to plan to go India, you would take up indian language too??

Me : Err ..........


Eighteen months later .....

Friend B : Why do you study korean?

Me : Oh, i picked up korean 3 months before i travelled to korea last september. For convenience lah.

Friend B (also shocked) : WHAT?! What if you intend to travel to India? You would pick up indian language?

Me (smarter this time) : 하하하 ... you are wrong ...

Me (smiling) : ... Luckily i dont have to cos the people in India can speak english. ㅋㅋㅋ
